SLIDESHOW: 8th graders Walked the Green Carpet at the high school on Curriculum Night

Pattonville hosted its annual 8th Grade Curriculum Night on Jan. 27 at the high school. The purpose of this night is to introduce incoming freshmen to their possible core classes.

Departments such as English, math, history and foreign language got to show off a little of what each class they have to offer includes.

The journalism department which offers Introduction to Journalism, Pirate Press, ECHO and Photojournalism had a backdrop that allowed the current 8th graders to “walk the green carpet” into the high school.

Senior and lead cast member, Meredith Stroud, says In my opinion, memorizing lines is somewhat easy, but theres a big difference between memorizing and presenting your lines. You may be able to stand on stage and recite your line, but whether or not you can present it in an engaging way to an audience is a different story. You constantly have to remember to speak slowly and with clarity, but also make it sound natural, like youre saying for the first time.
