COMMUNITY SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:  Any student who signed up for the Rose Acres Carnival on Saturday, March 1, please stop by the Community Service Office immediately.

 

 

WATER POLO TRYOUTS start today, February 24 after school in the pool.

 

 

STUDENT QUEST CLUB MEMBERS:  Please pass the word that there is NO Student Quest today after school.  It will resume next Monday afternoon, March 3.

 

 

MINORITY ACHIEVEMENT CLUB will practice today, February 24 at 2:30pm for the Black History Presentation on Thursday, February 27 at 2:30.  Please meet in room D205 immediately after school today.

 

 

KEY CLUB:  There will be a meeting today, February 24 after school in Mrs. Gossett’s room, H217.

 

 

COLLEGE REP. VISITS:  

 

  • UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL MISSOURI will be here tomorrow, February 25 at 10:00am.
  • MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY will be here tomorrow, February 25 at noon.

To sign up and get a pass, please see Mrs. Patrick in the Guidance Office.  See the posted list in the Guidance Office for a complete listing of upcoming college rep. visits.

ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN GOING ON THE GERMANY OR ECUADOR TRIP, please turn in your parent permission slip to Mr. Shaw or Ms. Ewig by this Friday, February 28.

COMMUNITY SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:  Maryland Heights Safety Town applications for Summer 2014 are available in the Community Service Office.

THE ASVAB TEST will be given on Tuesday, March 11 at PHS.  Juniors & Seniors interested in the military should sign up in the CSO.

STUDENTS PLANNING ON TAKING AP EXAMS IN MAY need to register online.  The registration site is www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/262575  (a link to this site can be found on the high school page).

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY:  6th Annual Trash Bash, Saturday, March 15 from 8:30am – Noon.  One of the sites of clean-up this year will be the Bridgeton area.  Gathering place will be at the Bridgeton Municipal Complex (BMAC), 12312 Ferguson Lane, where assignments will be given.  Lunch and celebration will follow clean-up.  Come to the Community Service Office for more information.

ATTENTION STUDENTS:  If you are not in a winter sport, participating in a supervised activity, or plan to attend tutoring you should go home immediately after school is dismissed.  Students are not allowed to roam the halls, hang out in the commons or front lobby, or use the stadium or other athletic fields without supervision.

Disciplinary consequences, including the loss of future after school privileges, will be assigned to individuals who do not comply with the rules.  

THE WORD OF THE WEEK IS PERSPECTIVE (per·spec·tive).  Perspective is a noun meaning:

  • The art of drawing solid objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other when viewed from a particular point.
  • The relation of two figures in the same plane, such that pairs of corresponding points lie on concurrent lines, and corresponding lines meet in collinear points.
  • A particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.
