The Cultural Arts Commission and Visual Arts of Maryland Heights is responsible for choosing and placing art throughout the city buildings and property.
They select local artists who are either looking for an opprotunity to get their artwork out there or artists who have had their art purchased. Some of the artists being exhibited are Nora Schomogy, Richard Spener, Maureen Kelly, and Brother Mel Meyer.
Their artwork can be viewed around Maryland Heights, but especially in the Government Center and the Maryland Heights Centre. There will be a different artist showcased in those buildings about every two weeks.
Artwork can include paintings, sculptures, drawings, etc. Maryland Heights is doing its best to get the community involved and allow locals to have an opprotunity that will also help the public get more involved with the arts and doing rotations of art is only the beginning.
