Andrea Eagle is one of the many new teachers at Pattonville High School and will be working in the social studies department.

In her college years, Eagle attended Truman State University and was a Truman State Bulldog. She always had a feeling she would go into the education field.

“Initially I wanted to teach history,” she said. “The more I taught history, the more I wanted to help kids.”

Even though she teaches in the social studies department, she teaches a few different classes. Her schedule includes Modern U.S. History, Psychology, and Themes in American History; she also has a section of 9th grade Academic Lab.

“It’s always nice to mix up what I teach.”

If she had a specific preference of another class she could possibly teach, it would be American History she said.

“But that could change.”

Eagle said she’s “excited to be here and I think that it’s going to be a good school year.”

The only exception for her is the size of Pattonville.

She said it is a bigger school and finding her way away might prove to be difficult at the start of the school year.
