“Being a teacher is a very rewarding job!”
One of the many new faces at Pattonville this year is Ms. Betty Bayer and she will be working in the English department.
“I decided to become a teacher because I love English and working with students,” Bayer said. “It’s hard to think of a better match.”
Though this may be her first year teaching, she already has a lot of experience in the teaching field.
“I student taught at Parkway West, and I was a writing tutor in college.”
During her studies at Washington University, she got her undergraduate degree in Art History, French and German. She then went on to get her Masters in English and Education at Saint Louis University.
Bayer is very excited to be able to work with all the students and teachers in Pattonville.
“Being a teacher is a very rewarding job,” Bayer said. “I get to see students grow and learn over the course of the semester and year and I also learn a lot from them. Furthermore, the other English teachers at Pattonville are incredible, and I feel really lucky to get to work with them.”
