Prom fashion show becomes a topsy-turvy success

During Contact Time on March 8, the junior class hosted a fashion show. Junior class president Isaac Caverly, under the supervision of Ms. Lopez, was the head director with the help of his officers.

“It was a lot of hard work that was stressful too. I had to coordinate between officers and Lopez. We called various vendors and had to make sure our models were ready to go. Like every one in three vendors would say yes to help donate stuff, or some would say ‘yes’ but cancel at last minute,” Caverly said.

Lopez, Caverly and the rest of the crew could not handle putting on the show by themselves. They received help from their upperclassmen classmates.

Behind the scenes, there was chaos. Junior fashionista Morgan Mars did hair and make up for the female models.

“It was stressful but I had fun. There was a lot going on backstage and I only had about 40 minutes to do everyone. It was especially hard because girls in general are picky. I didn’t do the boys’ though, they did their own hair,” Mars said.

Running around behind the curtains, were several models. “It was packed and I could barely move back there,” Ross Mercado, 12, said.

Although there was chaos before the show, Caverly was satisfied. “I’m glad the audience enjoyed it and everyone in the auditorium was just really involved.

The junior/senior prom will be May 4.
