Junior Abby Prueitt was selected as the new Division 6 Lieutenant Governor for the Missouri-Arkansas District of Key Club International during the conference held March 9-11 in Springdale, Ark.

The conference brought together key clubs from several high schools in Arkansas and Missouri. It gave the clubs a chance to discuss ways to improve their efforts.

For those who may not be familiar with what key club is, it is “a club dedicated to its community’ according to club secretary Vivi Magaña, 12. “We do a lot of community service,” she added.

The Lieutenant Governor position will give Prueitt plenty of responsibilities and obligations. Prueitt is currently already one of Pattonville’s Key Club’s secretaries, but this new divisional title requires her to make regular trips to Springfield, Mo., to meet with other Key Club lieutenants.

Prueitt will also be working closely with the executive board of the Missouri-Arkansas District. She must ensure local key clubs have a good understanding of what goes on in board meetings and vice versa.

If a key club needs the board to know something, it is now Prueitt’s job to discuss those matters with the board.
