Jeremy Fechtman soars over everyone to clear the ball in Pattonville’s 4-2 lost to Lindbergh.

The 2016 varsity soccer season is nine games in and the Pirates have a record of 5-4 this year and plan to keep their above-average record.

The team is led by three senior captains: Matt Morlen, Luciano Zarinelli, and Jeremy Fechtman. Their leading goal scorer is Byron Reyes with 9 goals this season.

Fechtman, who wears jersey No. 10 for the Pirates, leads the team with 7 assists.

“I enjoy setting up my teammates, and if that’s what it takes to win, I’ll do it all day long.”

He said he has high hopes for the boys’ team this year.

“We have a strong squad this year and expect a lot of good wins out of this team,” Reyes said. “We should end up with an above .500 record this year.”

Fechtman also believes his team has the potential to win districts.

“Our district looks tough, but if we play up to our capabilities, we could win districts,” Fechtman said. “Also, we all need to stay healthy for us to succeed.”
