Being in today’s society, it is hard not to stay on track of what’s happening in the world we’re in. With blogs and tweets and Facebook posts going up every second of the day, anybody can know anything anywhere. However, trying to keep up with this can be time consuming and can cause a disconnection with the world around us.
Social media websites are the best invention that grazed this Earth. However, spending hours upon hours on them is a habit that is occurring more and more over time, especially in teenagers and young adults, pioneers of this technological age. Although it is important to know what is going on in the world, it’s more important to build connections with the people and places that we are close to.
Instead of having group chats on Skype, meet up at a school sporting event or go to the movies on the weekend. After you do your homework of course! Instead of texting, get a group of friends together and set up a nice play day at the park. Either way, go outside, be with the ones you love and enjoy the real world!
