Imagine stopping at the bank for a quick deposit in Lebanon, Il.,l when it gets held up by a woman who is donning neon green flip flops and a handgun. That is the same situation that occurred on Monday, March 26 at First Federal Savings Bank when Carla R. Walker, robbed the bank of $14,000-$16,000 with a gun pointed at the bank teller and a note demanding the money. Walker also warned employees that there was another shooter outside the doors pointed at the entrance.
The same bank, however, was robbed in December that caused First Federal to get a better security system. Because Walker, 43, failed to hide her identity, it wasn’t too terribly difficult to find the nicknamed Flip Flop Bandit.
The Bandit appeared in District Court Wednesday, March 27 where community members acknowledged Walker and the presented flip flops and handgun was found in the suspect’s trash, found during a home search.
