This weeks male athlete of the week is senior Quincy Usry. Quincy plays for the varsity Volleyball team. He started playing Volleyball two years ago, and moved up to varsity after just a few month of practice.
“ I got to play varsity for the districts in my first year, which prepared me well for this season because I got to know the intensity of the sport.” Now he is one of the key player of the varsity team and a somebody who supports his teammates as much as he can.
He usually plays on the strong side, but he got moved to the right side this season.
“My best skill is hitting, because I am tall I can hit the ball in a good angle over the net and I can hit the ball very hard. Furthermore I am good on either playing either side of the court which makes me an flexible and useful player.”
The Volleyball team is a consistent, well playing team but it gets always challenged.
“Today we are playing against the 3rd best team of the state, but I think we have a good chance of winning this and further games. It should be possible for us to win the districts and conference this year as well.”
