The Varsity Drill Team placed first in Hip Hop and won third in pom at the Lindbergh Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Lindbergh High School.

Member of the Varsity Drill Team Erin Bailey said that she is extremely proud of her team.

“We didn’t have a lot of time to practice, but we managed to pull it together and win first place,” Bailey said. “I think it helped that our dances were closer together so we still had energy pumping.”

The team performed their hip hop routine at 10 a.m. and their pom performance at 11:27 a.m.

Bailey shared her thoughts on the team taking third in the Pom category.

“Nothing went wrong,” she said. “We were just competing with tough teams so it was harder to win.”

Bailey said that overall the team did good, but there is always room for improvement.

The team next competes at the St. Charles Classic on Jan. 28.
