The Fight Against Prom Dresses

The Fight Against Prom Dresses

A night that juniors and seniors dream about for years, is still being censored.

High schools across the countries are trying to prevent prom dresses from getting too “sexy”. Thigh high slits, low backs, sheer dresses, and dresses shorter than three-inches above the knee are considered against the dress code.

Prom is supposed to be an event that students have the opportunity to enjoy. Every girl dreams of the perfect prom dress, and if the school considers all of these unacceptable that lowers the selection substantially.

Also, prom dresses are known for being expensive and for the students who pay for their dress themselves, do not want to get turned away at the door and not even be able to wear it.

They should be able to wear the dress that they want to wear and they should not get turned away because the school considers it inappropriate.

Prom is supposed to be fun, but the more strict schools get, the less fun it becomes. It is stressful enough to prepare for prom without worrying about if a student’s dress is going to acceptable or if their night will be ruined by being told to go home.
