Mac Miller released his latest mixtape, “Macadelic”, on March 23.  This means the Pittsburgh rapper has now added a seventh mixtape to his collection.

Although the songs sound the same in a way to his earlier work, you’ve got to give Miller credit. He did an outstanding job with this one. It’s not only the music but it’s also the production.

For starters, Miller took a spin on this mixtape as he expressed his thoughts. He feels as if people have doubted his music and haven’t given him much of a chance. On his song “Desperado,” he states, “[a] hundred thousand haters writing ‘bout my jams.” Also, in the “Thoughts From a Balcony,” he quotes “Yea, it’s me against the world, I guess I’ll take them on” and in the next verse, “Now these writers taking shots without a Nikon” saying people criticize without even having the tools.

Miller’s vibe plays a major role in the album as well. It consists of slower laid back songs but it still has a few upbeat and hyper songs. So, whether you’re in the car blasting music, or if you’re at home just chilling, the CD is perfect for any occasion.

Another plus for the album, is how Miller’s mixtape actually sounds like “his” mixtape. Nowadays, artist tend to have more features than they do have songs, which almost begins to sound like a collage or a “Now That’s What I Call Music” collection.

Overall, I would rate the album a 6/10. The album seems aimed toward people who are already fans of Mac Miller. Again, Miller did an outstanding job, but the music sounds the same and he basically states the same message in most of his songs. If you’re a fan, I recommend you get the mixtape; if not, you may want to pass on this one.
