At the conclusion of the conference tournament back on April 26, it was announced that senior Connor Hogan was named part of the 1st Team All-Conference squad and junior Shawn Hulahan was named to the 2nd Team All-Conference roster.
When asked about being named All-Conference, Hogan said it means a lot to me.
“It means a lot to be on the 1st Team All-Conference in the difficult conference we are in and considering my last year was a bad start, but I was able to finish pretty well.”
Hogan would end up shooting an 80 (9-over par) at the Conference Tournament that day. The following week at districts, he would go on to qualify for sectionals shooting just 6-over par at the districts tournament that was shorten to only 9 holes instead of the usual 18 because of rain.
At sectionals, Hogan would end up not qualifying for the state tournament missing the cut by only one stroke.
“It sucked not being able to qualify for state, but to sum up my season, it started off as a struggle but I was able to get it going late in the season and almost made my goal for my high school golf career,” Hogan said.
The other golfer to be named on an All-Conference team, was junior Shawn Hulahan. He was named 2nd Team All-Conference and it’s his first time being on an All-Conference team. At the Conference tournament, Hulahan shot an 88 and at the districts tournament, he shot a 43.
When asked about being named 2nd Team All-Conference, Hulahan said it was a great honor.
“I wish I would have done more to make the 1st Team but I look forward to making the 1st Team next year,” Hulahan said. “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
