SLIDESHOW Class of 2017 graduates high school

Seniors crossed the stage at The Family Arena to shake the hand of Dr. Joe Dobrinic and to get their high school diploma on Thursday, May 25. The Class of 2017 accomplished several things over the past four years at Pattonville High School.

By the numbers

  • 40 students of the graduating class earned the distinction of Summa Cum Laude for earning a cumulative 4.03 GPA and above
  • 34 students earned the distinction of Magna Cum Laude for having a 3.75 to 4.02 cumulative GPA
  • 25 students earned the distinction of Cum Laude for having a 3.5 to 3.74 cumulative GPA
  • 90 percent of the Class of 2017 plans to attend some type of post-secondary education and will be attending over 75 different colleges, universities or junior colleges.
  • 7 of the graduates will be serving the country in different branches of the United States Armed Forces
  • All graduating students met the high school requirements of completing 50 community service hours and as a class, the seniors collectively volunteered more than 41,000 hours of community service . The top 3 students were:
    • Anastasia Barnum who completed 708 hours of community service
    • Liza Gusleva volunteered 533 hours of community service
    • Karlie Wright completed 487 hours of community service
  • 102 members of the graduating class successfully completed the requirements for the A+ Program. Students that earned this distinction are allowed to attend 2 years of college at designated institutions free of charge.
  • 13 graduates were winners of the Pattonville PTO scholarships. The PTO distributed $20,000 in total among these students.
  • Collectively, the Class of 2017 earned $7,885, 560 in scholarships.
