Counting down the days

Senior Stephanie Dixon sleeps in one of her classes during free time.

After weeks of torturing the senior class, the Pattonville Board of Education came to a final decision on Tues. April 10 in terms of the seniors last day of school.

The Pattonville Class of 2012 will report to school on May 16th for their last day of attendance.

“I feel like I should just focus on my studies more now since there is a set day,” senior Vivi Magana said.

Some seniors have counted down the days towards graduation.

“I feel like having a countdown for graduation is a big milestone in my life. I’ve had mine for years and now it’s finally down to days,” senior Hailey Lewis said.

For other seniors, planning ahead is not the route and instead, choose to focus on graduation.

“I didn’t have a countdown before the date was set, mostly because I didn’t know when we’d get out and I didn’t want to get my hopes up. Now, I’m just excited because it makes graduating more real to me,” senior Audrey Masek said.

With 24 days left of school seniors are scrambling to reconsider their attitude towards the remaining school year.

“It makes me want to finish the school year strong, but it also make me a lot more lazy with school work at the same time. It makes me not want to do it but I also want to take advantage of the days,” Masek said.
