Choir prepares for its concert on Nov. 2

The choir sings the National Anthem at the Monday pep rally during homecoming week.

Treble Choir girls are getting ready for their concert on Nov. 2. It will be in the auditorium at 7 p.m. and the theme for the concert is Blue and Sorrow.

“Music in my Mother’s House” is a song that is about how people have found music whether it was through a family member, friend, or just from yourself.

Junior Alexis Blount said one of the songs she is singing at the concert reminds her of her grandpa because he passed away when she was 4 years old and she would always play his piano when she was little.

Little do the other choirs know, but the Treble Choir is singing a hair-raising song at the concert called Jabberwocky. It is a poem written about the killing of a frightening creature by Lewis Carroll and was featured in Alice in Wonderland in 1871.

“I think the audience is going to be excited because it’s different and there’s gonna be some good stuff,” Blount said.

For the Jabberwocky piece, Treble Choir is including dance moves and gestures that makes the song a little more creepier.

The concert will be held at Pattonville High School at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
