Degrees of Freedom advances to Super Regional Championship

The Robotics Club hosted an FTC meet on Jan. 27, 2018 at the high school. Degrees of Freedom won the event that had 12 teams participating. Blood Sweat & Gears finished in 3rd place.

Pattonville Robotics had two teams compete at the Missouri State Championship in Rolla, Missouri, and 2867 Degrees of Freedom will advance to the Super Regional Championship in Athens, Georgia.

Sponsor Ms. Sue Mathis said more than 200 teams in Missouri and Kansas compete for 48 spots in the state championship, and both teams from Pattonville, 2867 Degrees of Freedom and 7856 Blood Sweat & Gears, qualified for it.  While, Blood Sweat & Tears finished 6th in their division at the State Championship, they will not be moving on.

Degrees of Freedom will be one of the 11 teams to move on to the Super Regional Championship – South Region on March 8-10, 2018. That competition is one of four regional events to be held, and teams that win advance to the World Championship from that tournament.

In addition to advancing, Degrees of Freedom won many awards at the State Championship:

  • Inspire Award: 3rd place, Degrees of Freedom
  • Think Award: 2nd place, Degrees of Freedom
  • Control Award: 1st place, Degrees of Freedom
