After seeing one team advance to the Super Regionals Championship in Atlanta, Georgia, the Robotics Club held an end-of-the-year banquet on April 18 which proved to be an emotional day for all of its members.

The club recognized its seniors at this farewell party who will be leaving at the end of the year and moving on from high school.

Students, teachers, and mentors all said their goodbyes and farewells to each other and members moving on placed their names on a wall that houses the names of all past members.

Sponsor Ms. Sue Mathis presented seniors with gilded hex-keys and coffee mugs and spoke to them though tears.

“I hope you guys will get a picture with me on graduation.”

The festivities weren’t all sad however.

The party had food and snacks and tables for members to converse so this party obviously wasn’t meant to be wishing someone off, but rather a celebration of members moving on to college.

Some of the seniors members included Kyle Murphy will leave Missouri to attend a college in New York, and Michel Pieper will most likely attend Missouri University of Science and Technology.
