“Work hard until you don’t have to introduce yourself” is a quote that senior Katie Basta wrote on the board in D109 as a final thought along with other messages that students from the Class of 2018 have written.

So far about 20 seniors have written their final thoughts on the board in Ms. Beth Moritz’s English classroom.

“I feel like it’s a good message that anyone can follow,” Basta said. “It’s a motivational quote that I tell myself to always be better and I hope when someone else reads it, it will do the same for them.”

The writing will remain on the board until the start of the new school year to send a message to incoming and returning students at Pattonville for the next school year.

“For about 15 years, seniors have been writing their final thoughts on my board for incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors,” Moritz said. “I try to make sure the quotes stay up during the summer so the students can read and reflect on them during the new school year.”
