Boys’ basketball loses to Vianney 67-49 in Vianney Invitational Tournament

The Pattonville boys’ basketball team is 0-2 in the Vianney Invitational Tournament after losing to host school Vianney, 67-49.

The Pirates improved on their rebounding which was a huge weakness the Spartans were able to explicit in the last game. This time, the Pirates collected 25 total boards with 5 offensive grabs and 20 defensive collections compared to the previous game against Hazelwood East where they only collected 18 totals boards.

Guard Monte Henderson had 14 points for the Pirates shooting 3-for-6 from the field and 8-for-11 from the free throw. The second highest scorer for Pattonville was freshman guard Kellen Thames with 12 points shooting 5-for-7 from the field and 2-for-5 from the free throw line.

Two players on Pattonville had foul trouble. Cory Stringer and Levi Banks both fouled out of the game with 5 fouls each.

Vianney’s (1-1) senior Josh Kleinheider scored 15 points knocking down three 3-pointers pushing them to the win. The Vianney boys hit a total of 10 3-pointers pushing them to the 67-49 win.

The Pirates will play St. Marys (0-3) in the final game of the Vianney Invitational Tournament on Nov. 30 at 4 p.m.
