NHS will have a meeting Wednesday after school in F218.

 

Yearbook is still accepting applications to be on next year’s staff but this is the last week. Make sure to turn in your completed application to Mr. Heyman before Friday’s deadline. Forms can be picked up outside of B108.

 

Attention Students and Staff:  To gear up for the upcoming Red Out Basketball Games on Feb. 10, the Student Council will be selling t-shirts to wear on game day.  The shirts start at $10 each and will be sold at all lunch sessions starting on Wednesday, Feb. 1.  Be sure to stop by and get your shirt!  Also, show your support for the American Heart Association even more so by donating at least one dollar and putting your name on a heart.  We will be displaying the hearts in the commons.  Show everyone you have a heart and help out with this great cause!

 

A+ TUTOR TRAINING – next meeting is Thursday, February 16.  A+ students:  You must attend one training before you can begin your tutoring requirement.  Students who signed up at the January 19 meeting will be included in this session unless you stop and cancel in the A+ Office.

 

CFO/FCCLA – Caring for Others/Family, Career and Community Leader of America
Will hold a meeting Thursday, February 2 during contact time is room E203.  Refreshments will be available!  Pick up passes from Mrs. Borgmann in room E203.

Congratulations to the following PHS students for earning medals in the annual Special Olympics Bowling Tournament held at Brunswick Lanes in Valley Park on Friday, January 27, 2012.  7 area high schools, and over 200 bowlers, participated in the annual event.  The students were coached by Ms. Huff and Ms. Schwarte.  Medalists were:  Austin Reynolds – Silver; Zachary Concialdi – Gold; Justin Emch – Gold; Emily Lindsay – Silver; Brittany Cockrell – Gold; Scarlett Hayes – Gold;  Christian Spicer – Silver; Lexi Keller – Gold; Donna Buus – Silver.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
MARYLAND HEIGHTS 11TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL DAY on Sunday, February 26 from 12-5 pm needs volunteers to carry flags representing your country of origin.  Contact the Community Service Office immediately if interested.  

 

11TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL ARTS FESTIVAL “CELEBRATE THE WORLD”, Sunday, February 26 from 12-5 pm located at Maryland Heights Centre is in need of volunteers.  Stop by the CSO for more information.  

 

St. Louis County Parks needs volunteers to help repair trails.   Stop by the Community Service Office for a list of dates of winter/spring volunteer projects.

 

Briar Crest Elementary is holding parent involvement events and need help with daycare.  Dates are February 8 6:45 – 8:15 pm; and April 18 6:45 – 8:15 pm…4-5 volunteers are needed.  Sign up in the CSO if interested.
