PattonvilleTODAY

February 3, 2011

Today is the last day to turn in applications for the 2012-2013 yearbook staff. We have a lot of applications already turned in. Is yours one of them? Make sure to pick up an application today from Mr. Heyman in B108.

There will be a Key Club meeting after school on Monday in the cafeteria.

Starting Monday, the Student Council will be selling Carnations at all lunches that will be delivered on Valentine’s Day.  Each flower costs $1.00 and this year, you can add a heart sucker to your card for an additional dollar and the proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association.  Sales will run from February 6 until Friday, Feb. 10.

Remember the Pirate Code…Be Respectful.  Be Responsible.  Be Involved.

Attention Students and Staff: To gear up for the upcoming Red Out Basketball Games on Feb. 10, the Student Council is selling t-shirts to wear on game day.  The shirts start at $10 each and are sold at all lunch sessions.  Be sure to stop by and get your shirt!  Also, show your support for the American Heart Association even more so by donating at least one dollar and putting your name on a heart.  We are displaying the hearts in the commons.  Show everyone you have a heart and help out with this great cause!

RACHEL’S CHALLENGE THOUGHTS
The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable of receiving.
–Albert Einstein

Continue to show acts of kindness and respect to each person that you meet.
Please join members of the Pirate Code during lunch today as we continue our kindness chain.
CAN you open your heart?

Please help the Pirate Code feed members of the Pattonville community.  The Pirate Code will sponsor a can food drive February 14-28.  Can foods can be dropped off each morning starting February 14th in the commons, from 6:45 – 7:10 am.  As can foods are dropped off, a notation will be made as to which Pirate Connections class the student or staff is a part of.  The Pirate Connections class with the most can food donations at the end of our drive will receive a donut party.  Happy Giving!

ATHLETIC, CHEERLEADING, AND DRILL TEAM PHYSICAL EXAMS
In accordance with Missouri State High School Activities Office guidelines, students must have a current physical on file prior to tryouts.  Physical exams are scheduled at Pattonville High School on February 21 from 4-6 pm.  You must call the Activities Office (314-213-8058) to RSVP.  Cost is $25.00…make checks payable to Advanced Training and Rehab.  If cleared by the physician, this physical is good through the 2012-13 school year for all athletes, cheerleading and drill team members.
