More than $5,000 raised for Barrett, Fader families (Slideshow)

Students and staff have been doing many fundraisers to help the families of Mr. Pete Barrett and Mr. Scott Fader as they have children battling cancer. None were bigger than the selling of “Faith Not Fear” T-shirts organized by the Caring For Others (Ms. Twila Harris) and Spanish National Honors Society (Dr. Silvia Hilker) groups.

T-shirts were sold during all lunches for the past week at $10 each and the design was created by the teacher’s daughters. Fader’s daughter drew the picture that was printed on the front of the shirt and Barrett’s daughter came up with the quote.

It was announced this morning during the participant’s photo that $5,600 were raised to help these two teacher’s families.

In addition to the T-shirt fundraiser, the math department sold pie on Pi Day for $1 a slice and the culinary arts department sold prepared meals.
