The Pattonville College Academy was held the first week of August for rising seniors who are first-generation college bound students.
College Counselor Julie Kampshroeder leads the group of seniors who meet a dozen college representatives from around the state and learn about ACT testing, essay writing, how to find the right college fit, financial aid and many other college-related issues. The week ends by touring a community college, a 4-year public college and a 4-year private college.
There is no cost to participate and the only requirement is students must have a 2.0 GPA or higher and be a first-generation college bound student. Space is limited for the program and current juniors should see Ms. Kampshroeder in the College Center for an application when the new selection process begins later in the year.
