Pirate Boys are ready to bounce back from a disappointing season

The Pattonville football team kicks off the 2012 season with a new stadium. The Pirates return to the field on Friday, Aug. 30 against Kirkwood to begin the 2013 campaign.

The football team is ready to kick off the 2013-2014 school year. With a rough season last year, the Pirate Boys are ready to come out strong this year

The first home game is on Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. against Kirkwood.

According to senior Shaquan Whitaker, the team has been working very hard and the athletes are looking forward to a successful and winning record.

“I expect to end this year on a good note,” Whitaker said.

How do you think you guys will compare to last year?

“I think we will be better. We’ve been working harder and doing a lot of things differently.”

Who are some key players to look for on the field?

“There are a lot I could name, but it’s not about individuals; the game is about the team.”

What position is the hardest?

“I believe either quarterback, cornerback, or linemen.”

How do you expect to end your season?

“On a good note of course.”

How can you help your team?

“Work hard, push the others, and be a leader. Also, sacrifice myself for the team’s success.”
