This past week, senior and member of Pattonville varsity soccer Jordin McGehee officially announced that she will be playing soccer at the collegiate level. She verbally committed to play at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, which is a NCAA Division III school.

“I got the offer to play for them at the end of May when I went to an ID camp there,” McGehee said. “I then had to go on an official visit and stay with the team to make sure that I actually enjoyed it before I received a real offer. They also were really the only school I was trying to go to for soccer. They have really good academic programs and I basically have a full ride scholarship to attend there.”

McGehee in the past has dealt with many injuries. She has had ankle problems multiple times while in season and even had to have hip surgery back in January of 2015.

“Whenever I got my hip surgery done, I was out for a few months so I thought it would hurt me during the recruiting process,” McGehee said. “It definitely hurt my playing time especially during that high school season. It’s something I’ve told my college coaches about and we know it’s something that I’m going to have to deal with in the future as a player.”

McGehee is very excited to play soccer at the collegiate level and begin a new chapter in her soccer career.

“I think I’m most excited about still getting to be a part of a team and actually getting to live my dream of playing college soccer,” McGehee said. “I think just the entire college atmosphere and having a group of people that I’m always around who will motivate me will be cool too.”
