PALs have placed posters all throughout the school with information about the game.
PALs have placed posters all throughout the school with information about the game.

On Thursday, Nov. 5, Pattonville High School PALs will be hosting the 20th Annual Wheelchair Basketball game in the main gym at 6 p.m. Admission is $4 at the door, and shirts are on sale at all lunches for $12.

“We do this to raise money for the St. Louis Jr. Rolling Rams basketball team,” sponsor and teacher Ms. Janet Kuhn said. “We help them raise money for travel expenses. It also helps bring students and staff together for a good cause.”

This is the 20th annual game where high school staff plays the St. Louis Jr. Rolling Rams. The Rams have beaten the staff 18 times and the staff has won only once.

“The PALs organize the game by picking jobs to work at the game,” junior and PALs member Nick Rauscher said. “We also are putting together raffle baskets to give away at the game. This game is enjoyable because it showcases that disadvantage doesn’t mean failure.”

In addition to the game, there is other entertainment planned.

“There’s also a halftime show that 15 teachers are a part of,” Rauscher said. “A dance is planned and choreographed by drill team members that the teachers will perform.”

Pre-game activities begin at 6 p.m. with tip-off scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the main gym
