On Tuesday, Dec. 3, Pattonville High School held the Renaissance Dessert Bar for students achieving a 3.0 GPA or higher for Grading Period 2.
During all three lunch sessions, the 750 eligible students with tickets picked out their favorite desserts from McArthur’s Bakery items.
Renaissance sponsor Ms. Beth Moritz said the incentive is popular with students and that they were treated with desserts and music.
About 20 Renaissance members helped serve the treats at the space-themed dessert bar.
They also got in on the fun as they were singing and dancing to Nicki Minaj’s, Starships as they greeted the students.
One thing Moritz would like to improve on in the future is the advertisement of the dessert bar.
“We talk about that each year,” Moritz said. “We would like to promote it more as an incentive and we didn’t do a very good job this year.”
She was pleased with the number of students that received the prize but would like to see more attend next time.
“Maybe a little more reward will help kids get there.”
