The following message was posted to the Pattonville School District website on Dec. 10, 2014:

“The Pattonville Board of Education on Dec. 9 approved changing Jan. 16, 2015, to a student attendance day in order to make up one of the emergency days used in November. Jan. 16 was originally scheduled as a professional development day with no students in attendance. The professional development day will be moved to the end of the school year.

To date, Pattonville has used three of the six snow/emergency days built into the 2014-2015 school year calendar. Attending school on Jan. 16 reduces the number of emergency days used to two, providing some extra buffer as the region moves into the winter months. The board also approved changing the April 3, 2015 spring holiday to a student attendance day if needed to avoid extending the current school year calendar.

The last day of school will be officially set by the Board of Education in April, after winter weather is no longer a concern. The final day of student and staff attendance will be based on the total number of emergency days used. Each year, six emergency days (snow days) are built into the school calendar as required by state law. The ending date of school is rolled back one day for every emergency day not used.”
