Tyrone Eastern led the scoring for the Pirates running a pair of 7-yarders into the end zone and Pattonville remained undefeated after a 37-14 win against Lindbergh on Aug. 29 at Pattonville Stadium.

Pirate Pride hosted a tailgate with a neon theme, and the football players were the ones shining bright on the field.

Freshman quarterback Kaleb Eleby tossed two touchdowns through the air. A 63-yard connection to Anthony Green in the second quarter put Pattonville ahead of Lindbergh 20-14 and the Pirate defense shut the Flyers out for the rest of the game.

The defense totaled three interceptions on the night including an 18-yard pick that CJ McDaniel took back for a score in the first half.

For the final two plays of the game, head coach Steve Smith may have listened to the voices coming from the student section in the bleachers.

“We want Big Dawg, we want Big Dawg!”

Justin “Big Dawg” Vaughn entered the game for a running play and then for the victory formation.

After the game, Vaughn was being treated as one of the stars of the game taking pictures with students and passing out high-fives like he scored the winning touchdown.

And for those wondering if he heard the crowd.

“Oh yea, it was awesome,” Vaughn said.

Pattonville plays at Hazelwood West next week.
