VIDEO Coaches talk about winter sports practices beginning Nov. 3

Winter sports practices for basketball and wrestling will start on November 3 after school. Girls swimming does not begin until November 10. Basketball players will meet in the gym, wrestlers will meet in the low ceiling room, and girl swimmers will meet at the pool.

All interested athletes need to make sure paperwork is turned in and they have all the gear and/or equipment needed for participation.

Basketball players need to make sure they have their physical papers and the packet with the athletic code turned in before practices begin.

“Then they need to be prepared and ready to go with drills and conditioning work,” head coach Kelly Thames said.

Wrestlers will meet in the low ceiling room on Nov. 3.

“They need to have all the paperwork in which includes their physical forms and drug testing information,” coach Brent Mueller said.

Practice begins Nov. 10 for girls swimming and diving, and head coach Anna LeBlanc explains why.

“We start a week later than all the other winter sports because boys swimming and diving is currently going on and the state championship isn’t until Nov. 78.”
