One donation of blood can save three lives, and Marissa Ruggiero has first-hand experience of this impact.

“My cousin needed a blood transplant because he got into a really bad car accident,” she said. “His car toppled over and he got a concussion and a part of his arm ripped open.”

Without blood donations, people like Ruggiero’s cousin may not be alive.

There will be a blood drive on Friday, Feb. 23 hosted by the Key Club at Pattonville High School.

To schedule an appointment, students that are 16 and older can sign up in the Commons during lunch or in Ms. Adams’s room (G112). A photo ID is needed in order to donate.

After donating blood, students will get free snacks and the American Red Cross will send a card in the mail that will tell you your blood type.
