Passing Down the Music Gene

Everyone here at PHS knew one of the fellow band directors/music directors, Mrs. Deutchsman.  Most students know she retired last year and it left a mark on students’ hearts. A number of students report that band isn’t the same without her, but a new face has taken her position. It is none other than Mrs. Deutchsman’s daughter, Mrs. Livesay.

Carrying her mom’s love of music, Mrs. Livesay is also a Pattonville graduate. She loves teaching music here and said herself, “I can’t imagine myself ever teaching anywhere else!”

PHS is excited that Mrs. Livesay is continuing the legacy that her mother has built with the band program and interested to see how she will make the program her own.
