Megan Harrison

Megan Harrison is a current counselor at Pattonville. In her previous years, she interned at Pattonville and loved the environment.

Are you married, have kids, or have pets?

• “I am married; in September, it will be nine years.”

What made you want to be a secretary?

• “I started off teaching 8th grade math. I really loved teaching math, but my students would often come to me when they were struggling with a variety of issues. I didn’t have enough time as a math teacher to help all of the students with everything they were struggling with, so I wanted to make a change. As a school counselor, I still get to be in the school environment, work with students, and I have the time and the training to help them work through a variety of things.”

What would students be surprised to find out about you?

• “Students would probably be surprised to find out that I came from a very small town in northern Illinois. I grew up on a farm, and there were only 425 people in the whole town where I grew up.”
