The week before homecoming always equals one thing: Preparing.

One thing many young girls enjoy to do for homecoming is go tanning. While girls, and maybe some guys, need to go shopping for their outfit, they also need to find time to get their nails and hair done.

And it seems that no matter what, tanning is one of the first things they do.

Since tanning salons are aware of the traffic of homecoming week and to compete with other tanning salons, many offer deals and special coupons for girls during homecoming week.

“I always go tanning for homecoming,” junior Katie Wildberger said. “I’ve went tanning every year for homecoming so far in high school, and I plan to go tanning this year too.”

Wildberger said she waits until tanning salons such as Tan Co. on Dorsett Road give homecoming deals to go tanning.

“Sometimes they give up to 20% off for people tanning for homecoming, which can save you some money when you still have to get your dress, nails and hair done,” Wildberger said.
