On Monday, Nov. 4, Pattonville High School will host the annual All-Suburban Orchestra Auditions after school, a product of the St. Louis Suburban Music Educators Association.
At this event, all high school orchestra students from the St. Louis area are given the opportunity to audition for the All-Suburban Orchestra, in which “students who do exceptionally well are admitted,” said Mr. Daniel Henderson, Pattonville Orchestra Director.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Pattonville High School will host the All-Suburban auditions, due to the fitting facilities offered at the school. Along with this, it is mandatory for Pattonville High orchestra students to sign up for different shifts and assist in making the program run smoothly.
“My students usually perform a variety of tasks,” Henderson said. “Some are runners who take auditioning students to judging rooms, others assist judges, and some set up and tear down rooms.”
While it is mandatory for all PHS orchestra students to assist with auditions in some way, said students are still eligible to audition for the All-Suburban ensemble.
