Ms. Trista Giubardo is a math teacher who is new to the building this year, but she’s already lending students a helping hand by working in the Math Help Center.
“It’s great getting a little extra help from other teachers,” Giubardo said. “Having another set of eyes to make sure you’re on track, and getting all the help you need is great for students. Getting different types of help is also great.”
The different types of help come from all the math teachers in the building that serve time in the Math Help Center located in H116.
“All the different math teachers work here,” Giubardo said. “They are assigned different hours every day.”
The Math Help Center is open every hour of the school day and also provides help before and after school. The Math Help Center is open Monday-Friday from 6:30-7:15 a.m. and also Monday-Thursday after school from 2:30-4 p.m.
“We’re available for any of the math classes you can take at this school,” Giubardo said. “From low-level to high-level, Algebra all the way up to Pre-Calc.”
Students that visit the Math Help Center are expected to bring all needed supplies (including writing utensils, books, and calculator), use the time to ask specific questions in areas of struggle and complete math homework, maintain a “library-like” environment, since some students may be testing, and are asked to bring their student ID if they plan on taking a test.
