Being introduced to something new is always a daring thing; maybe even a challenge. But not for Ms. White.
White teaches a variety of classes this year and is new to the Pattonville School District. Her teaching schedule includes Algebra, Geometry, and Introduction to Engineer and Design.
White, a native of St. Louis, attended Hazelwood Central High School and then studied at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
“I went to Hazelwood Central, home of the Hawks,” White said. “And for college, I went to the University of Missouri, also known as Mizzou.”
Although this is White’s first year teaching, she has very high expectations for all of her classes and hopes to leave them all with useful life skills.
“I want my students to always try their best and learn that the process through which they travel is more important than the final product,” White said.
She also hopes to gain close bonds with her pupils and colleagues.
“I also hope to gain a close relationship with my students and fellow teachers.”
White hopes to learn more throughout the year and continue to grow as a teacher. White is looking to strive for the best and be optimistic as time passes over the years in Pattonville.
“In the future I hope to use my experience to meet the needs of all my students and become a better teacher.”
Even though this is White’s first taste of teaching on her own, she has many qualities that make her teaching style recognizable and unique.
“I am genuine, relatable, and honest. I care about the students and am knowledgeable about the content I teach,” White said. “My classroom environment is pretty calm, chill, relaxed, and filled with lots of hard-working students.”
