Going through high school and trying to manage academics along with a social life – as well as trying to find out who you are – is something that all people struggle with in their lifetime.
Even though Pattonville freshman Aaron Garner deals with all of this, he has found a way to juggle all of his responsibilities while maintaining a high grade point average.
His hobbies include swimming, singing in the choir and playing cello in the orchestra. Garner said he wasn’t able to choose a favorite between these activities because he enjoys all of them.
“I got interested in orchestra and choir because I love music, as well as making it,” Garner said. “And I’ve always been swimming.”
He’s been swimming since kindergarten, and he’s found happiness in singing since the third grade.
With excelling in other areas in life, Garner somehow achieves with academics as well.
“I’m in all honors classes,” he said.
Not only does that include Honors Biology, Honors English, and Honors History, he is also two years ahead in math.
Juggling both music and sports, while having good grades is quite difficult, but with dedication and perseverance, Garner has been able to do it.
“Time management is very important.”
He is well-enlightened on how to keep organize by now; after all, he was in all Challenge core classes in middle school.
Garner said he fulfilled the accomplishment by being in the Renaissance program.
While being the best student, swimmer, singer, and cello player that he can be, it doesn’t come easy.
“I have many scheduling conflicts.”
