Like the students, Tammy Hasheider is making a transition with the new semester. Hashider transitioned into a new role as the District Technology Specialist.
“I was a math teacher, along with being the department chair for mathematics,” Hasheider said. “I was also an instructional coach in all the middle schools for math.”
Hasheider, who holds a teaching degree in math also has a master’s degree in technology, so instead of working with numbers, Hasheider will be working with computers.
She is going to miss being constantly “immersed” with mathematics.
Hasheider’s new job will entail helping teachers utilize the technology that they have in the classroom.
Hasheider is also going to be the spokesperson for iLearn. She will be collaborating with other districts and research how other high schools use technology. Hasheider will also serve as a liaison to the Learning Center.
“I’m going to be the great communicator” Hasheider said.
Hasheider is excited for her new position.
“I am really looking forward to getting to know all our staff in all the departments and their curriculums, and helping them transform what it is they do in the classroom,” Hasheider said. “We have all this powerful technology but I don’t know that people know what to actually do with it.”
