Roses are red, Violets are blue, Buy a carnation for someone special to you!
Carnation sales are being sponsored by Student Council and will be available at all lunches Feb. 2-6 for just $1.
“We’ve been selling carnations for a few years now,” STUCO member Juli Ensor said. “We will be passing the flowers out during 1st hour on Friday, Feb. 13, since it’s closer to Valentine’s Day.”
Flowers aren’t just for couples. Friends can send carnations to one another as well.
There are different colors available which mean three different things: Red means Love, pink says I’m thinking of you and white represents friendship.
The message in color is not the only thing that will be communicated with students because there is an opportunity to write your own note to the recipient on a card.
“We chose to sell carnations over roses because they’re cheaper than roses,” STUCO member Erin Farrell said.
