Meet new student teacher: Mr. Adam McDaniel
Mr. Adam McDaniel is new to D113 this year, but not new to the English department. He began observing in Ms. Katie Funderburk’s classroom last semester and is now working with Mr. James Dalton as a student teacher.
McDaniel graduated from Webster Groves High School and then attended different colleges. He ended up getting his bachelor’s degree at Webster University and is now working on obtaining his master’s in education at Saint Louis University.
He has always wanted to be a teacher but veered away from the career a couple times.
“I think it was spending time in rooms like Mr. Dalton’s where I’ve made a connection with my teacher and the content with reading great books.”
When he decided on the teaching career, he said Pattonville was his No. 1 choice of schools. He loves that Pattonville puts so much emphasis on its strength in diversity.
“My goals at Pattonville are to serve the learning needs of my students.”
He has had a great first few weeks.
“So far I love it,” he said. “The students have been enthusiastic and that goes a long way.”
