Pattonville was swept by Lafayette in all levels of boys’ basketball on Dec. 7. The games were the first home contests for the Pirates this season.

The JV Pirates lost to the Lancers 44-38 but junior Brandon Clark said the game was closer than what the scoreboard shows.

“It was a tied game with about a minute left on the clock, but then we had a few turnovers that led them to scoring some to layups to take the lead.”

Because it was the home opener for the Pirates, Clark said the team has found some things they need to work on.

“We turned the ball over because we didn’t talk really talk on the court to each other,” he said. “That’s one thing we’ll need to work on in practice.”

The crowd that stuck around after the JV game got to watch the varsity team play Lafayette. The Lancers won that game, 61-57

Earlier in the night, the Lancers freshman team beat the Pirates, 47-35.
