Writers Week to start at the high school on March 19
March 18, 2018
Writers Week is a high school event where students and faculty members can be creative and share their original work and an event where students can meet and listen to local and professional writers tell their stories and process.

First-year English teacher Ms. Jodi Moeller is the organizer of the inaugural event at Pattonville.
“I have done Writer’s Week for nine previous years at Hazelwood West High School and when I came here, I saw a sense of community and support created here at Pattonville.”
So with the help of the entire English department and the administration, the first-ever Writers Week at the high school will be held starting the week before Spring Break.
In addition to students getting the chance to hear professionals talk about writing, Moeller likes another aspect of Writers Week.
“It also gives students a chance to show how creative they can be in an academic setting.”
Writer’s Week will be fun and she is looking forward to some of the names on the schedule.
“I’m looking forward to hearing the student presentations and guest speakers like Antony John, Zac Brewer, and Aliki Barnstone.”
Moeller hopes that this event turns into an annual one at the high school.
“I hope something like this happens every year at Pattonville because I think it’ll have a positive affect on students and faculty members as well as bringing the community together.”
