All fines must be paid before prom tickets can be purchased

With prom just around the corner, administrators are urging all students to pay their fines.

If any fines remain when students attempt to buy their prom ticket, the student will be sent away.

Fines from ID badges, books, lunch and sports uniforms will all restrict students from purchasing a ticket and attending prom. Students will also not be able to buy a ticket for a friend or a date who has fines on their record either.

If a student needs to pay a fine, they should go to the front office and find Ms. Joan Mason’s office.

Mason believes that it is important for students to avoid getting fines all together, but if it happens, she said that it is best for students to pay them as soon as possible.

“If they come during class, they need to have a pass and they always have to have their ID on.”

If those requirements are not met, she will send students to get a new ID and the student will have to pay another fine.

This is an important part of the prom ticket buying process since it ensures that students get the fines taken care of before the end of the year.

“We have to replace the books and empty ID badges, so it is important for the students to get their fines taken care of as soon as they can,” Mason said. “I think that it is important for students to learn responsibility, and when they have to pay for it themselves, they usually do.”
