Yohanes Mulat wins 4-time MVP award
May 1, 2018
Pattonville High School teachers had the opportunity to nominate a student for a Most Valuable Pirate award, or MVP. The ceremony was held on April 26.
Each teacher can pick one student for whatever reason they choose. Examples could be showing outstanding character or earning superior grades in class.
Senior Yohanes Mulat has gotten picked four times and was selected his senior year by science teacher Mr. Christian Dornhoefer.
“It feels great to have won MVP four years in a row,” Mulat said. “I don’t think I was chosen for one specific reason, but I believe my commitment to learning, helping others, and connecting with students and teachers helped me win this award.”
Four-time winners are awarded with a plaque. When Mulat witnessed a senior receive a plaque in the past, he “was inspired to remain my outgoing self and strive to make connections with teachers.”
Mulat will be graduating from Pattonville High School on May 25.
“It has been amazing being able to hear what kind words teachers have for me,” he said. “I’m glad to have left a positive impact on the lives of students and teachers during my time at Pattonville.”
Mulat hopes to continue to be a positive role model in college and make an impact on students and staff around him.
