Pattonville’s marching band took 2nd place at the Farmington Invitational. The Pirates got 76 points for their performance at their first competition of the year. The winner of the event was Oakville High School.

Senior tuba player Chad Jones said he felt really good about how the Pride of Pattonville played.

“This year’s group performed the best they ever had for the competition.”

The event was held at Farmington High School.

“We had about a 2-hour long drive to get,” Jones said. “When we got there, we warmed up and performed our show.”

Senior trumpet player Trevor Vigus said the Invitational was a fun experience and he felt really good about the show titled ‘Quest for Gold.’

“It was one of the first times I felt that good about a show at the first competition of the year,” Vigus said. “I can’t wait for the next show.”

They perform their routine at every football game during halftime.

The Pride of Pattonville will perform tonight at the varsity football game against Kirkwood. Their next competition is Sept. 29 at Fox High School.
