Pattonville’s Varsity Drill Team took first place in Hip Hop at the Lindbergh Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 1. The team did not place for its pom routine.

Hannah Schamber, a Varsity Drill Team member for 4 years, answered some questions about the competition.

How did it feel to get first place again in the competition at Lindbergh?

“It was a happy sad moment. I’m so happy that I got to perform with this team one last time at Lindbergh.”

Did your mindset change for this competition because it’s your last one or was it the same feeling for you?

“I think it was the same because we still have 3 more months of our competition season.”

As a senior who’s been doing this for 4 years, did you have any responsibility to help the younger members of the team?

“Yes, and I think not just me, but all the upperclassman have to be a responsible role model. Also as a captain, I feel like that responsibility is greater.”

How did you feel the team did as a whole?

“I feel like we performed our best and we did everything we had to do to make ourselves proud.”

You can catch Schamber and the rest of the Varsity Drill Team at select basketball games throughout the season.
